FA WPL National Division Day 4

2 games postponed due to Welsh players on international duty with the Euro qualifiers Barnet v Watford and Cardiff v Man City.

Leeds won away 3-2 at Charlton, Sunderland beat Aston Villa 2-1 at home and Coventry won 1-0 away at Porstmouth.

Sunderland has already taken a 3 points lead over Leeds and 6 over Watford but also has a +14 goal difference compared to +2 for Leeds and +1 for Watford.

Coventry and Portsmouth are level on points with Watford with 6 points. Then come Man City and Cardiff with 4, Aston Villa with 3 and at the bottom Charlton and Barnet with a point.

As a reminder the WSL division 2 will start in 2014 so at the end of this 2012-13 season, 10 sides will leave the Women’s Premier League National, Northern and Southern, unless a combination side manage to have a good enough financial package to get selected by the FA. So we have no clue what will happen in term of relegation or even the Women’s Premier League structure overall as it is likely that 17 clubs from the 3 divisions will still be around.
