With Matchday 3 having started on Thursday with Chelsea winning 2-0 at Arsenal, we look at the upcoming week-end games.
Liverpool (3) v Sunderland (5)
Liverpool have an 100% record in the League and a win would see them level with City and Chelsea for at least 20 hours and even maybe in the Champions League place.
Sunderland have to react following their poor performance in the Cup at Arsenal and will need to come back with something from the trip to avoid starting looking at the bottom of the table and the team fighting for relegation.
Birmingham City (7) v Manchester City (2)
A battle with contrasting style between a team with a big budget against probably the smallest budget in the League. Attacking football against pragmatic football. Solihull Moors is not an easy place to go and Man City will have to work hard to get the three points tomorrow.
Birmingham have a solid team backbone and their forwards will look to score a few goals early in the season. Last season’s game ended up with a red card and a player restrospectively suspended after a punch-up, so expect some fireworks and a physical game on the pitch.
Notts County (8) v Reading (6)
Two teams very close to the relegation zone, only one point ahead of the bottom team. Both need a win to get away from the relegation battle. Expect another physical encounter between two strong and powerful teams who won’t give a inch.
The Notts County should prevail at home but Reading have certainly some quality players in the main positions on the pitch to win the game.
