FA WSL 1 Matchday 2 Preview

Here is the Matchday 2 preview for the FA WSL 1 games.

Sunderland  (5) v Reading (8)

Current form Sunderland : W Reading  LW

Mid table Sunderland will begin their season at home to a Reading side that showed some resilience against a strong Arsenal side but some weaknesses in certain areas on the pitch. Two of the best strikers in the League will be on show with Mead and Boho-Sayo and it would be surprising to see both score in the game.

Chelsea (1) v Liverpool (3)

Current form Chelsea WW Liverpool WL

Top of the table clash with a Chelsea team in strong form with a an average of four goals scored per game but also one conceded per game which is a bit high. Can Liverpool stop that strong attacking potential  from scoring and get a goal with their new improved team ?

Manchester City ( 4) v Arsenal (2)

Current form City WW Arsenal WW

The title contender clash comes way too early in the season and it will be fascinating to see if City with so many first team players injured or unavailable due to international duty will cope against an Arsenal side that can rotate their squad at will.  We know that City have 12 outfield fit players to choose from and did not make any sub against Notts County. It should be a physical and intense encounter and both side will try to gain a psycholgical advantage early into the season.

Not playing :

Notts, County, Birmingham, Doncaster

Note Matchday 3 will be played from the 21st of April in one month.
