FA WSL 1 Matchday 10 preview

Wed 05 Aug :  Notts County v Bristol Academy.

Notts County would leapfrog Chelsea in third place with a win against Bristol and keep their Champions League challenge alive as we are now in the final third of the competition. They will need to perform after their poor showing in the FA Women’s Cup final on Saturday. it will also be intereresting to see who starts in goal with both Telford and Chamberlain available and also Danielle Hill on the book.

Bristol Academy desperately need at least a point off that game as they currently trail Birmingham by four points and they need to reduce the gap to alt least three points prior to the head to head game on the fifth of September.

Sat 08 Aug : Sunderland Ladies v Liverpool Ladies

Top of League Sunderland Ladies will look to consolidate their place in the top two and carry on their exceptional form this season. Liverpool Ladies have had so far a poor League season and are close to being out of the title and Champions League race. They have not been lucky with the injuries for the World Cup players.

Chelsea v Birmingham

Chelsea Ladies know that with a win against 2nd from bottom Birmingham City Ladies would seem them top of the League for at least a few hours. They are on high from their FA Cup win and looking for a double.

Birmingham City Ladies are under pressure following Bristol unexpected win at Notts County. Any point grabbed today would be useful prior to the head to head game on the 5th of September.

Arsenal v Manchester City

Arsenal Ladies will be top of the table with a win against City following Sunderland draw at home to Liverpool.
Man City need to climb up the table. They are 5 points off the leaders but have tonight’s game and a game against Liverpool in hand. A win tonight would see them in a good position to challenge for the title.
