FA WSL Day 9 preview

Bristol v Liverpool

Top of the table clash with both side having completed 7 games ie halfway through the season. Bristol with 18 pts and Liverpool with 15 pts. Although a Bristol win would open a 6 points lead over Liverpool by tonight and also an 11 points lead on Arsenal before the Arsenal v Everton game on Sunday, it would not be decisive and definitive at all. Especially as Bristol Academy’s next game will be on the 1st of September at Lincoln. The gap would probably be closed during the 21 days period. Should Liverpool win, they would be level with Bristol and  in the driving seat with a better goal difference. A draw would be a gift to Arsenal currently chasing those 2 teams with 5 and 8 points and 2 games in hand.

Arsenal v Everton

3 days after the Conti Cup semi-final, this will be a remake at Borehamwood. Arsenal chasing the two other title chasers, while Everton will be looking for a win to avenge the 4-0 defeat on Thursday. Everton are doing well by bringing young players in are maybe lacking experience.

Birmingham v Doncaster

Birmingham are trying to climb up the table and Doncaster are fighting above anyone on the table as they are already relegated. It should be a tough game for the Belles as Blues are flying.

Lincoln v Chelsea

Lincoln on a high after qualifying for the Conti Cup final, they might be a little tired after the 120 minutes from Wednesday but will be in a positive mood. They are currently fighting with Doncaster to avoid finishing bottom of the League. Chelsea are currently 3rd and  also trying to finish on the top half of the table.

My predictions :

Bristol 3 Liverpool 2

Arsenal 3 Everton 1

Birmingham 3 Doncaster 1

Lincoln 1 Chelsea 2

NB : Due to the very bizzare schedyuling by the FA, teams will be level with the number of game played by Day 13 only on the 15th of September.
